All to often negative emotions and thoughts run in loop in our heads. This can be very stressful especially when you are dealing with multiple things. It can even make your present situation feel worse.
If you stop, reflect and and write down on paper, it help you deal with challenges with a clearer mind. It helps release negative thoughts and forces you to look at the positives we so often ignore.
