APPLE CRISPS

Great snacking options and goes very well with a chia pudding or a s sprinkle on other recipes 

INGREDIENTS

Apples of choice
Cinnamon powder
Brown / coconut palm sugar - optional

METHOD

  • Slices the apples as thin as possible. For best results use a slicer or mandolin
  • Preheat the oven to 100 degrees Celsius
  • Put the apple slices on a paper towel and pat to remove excess water
  • Place the apple slices on a baking tray lined with aluminium foil or parchment paper ( I used parchment paper )
  • Place the apple slices in the oven
  • Mix the cinnamon powder and sugar and keep aside
  • Once the slices start to curl up around the edges sprinkle the cinnamon and sugar over them
  • Raise temp to 110C and continue to bake until the edges start to brown
  • Remove and let cool for atleast 10 mins

 

 

NOTE

  • It will remain crisp for about 6 hours so they are best consumed immediately
  • The low temp causes it to dehydrate and become crisp.
  • Watch it as it can burn quickly
  • Oven : centre rack. I use the mode with the fan. It takes longer if you don't have this convection mode.
