NAVRATRI SUKHA CHANA

Ingredients
1 cup chana (raw) (to be washed and soaked overnight)
2 tbsp oil/ghee
¼ tsp asafoetida
1 tsp whole cumin
few slitted green chillies
few chopped green chillies
2 piece ginger julienne
¼ tsp turmeric
¼ tsp kashmiri chilli powder (for colour)
1-2 tsp of coriander powder
1 ½ tsp aamchur
2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
Method
- Boil and cook the chana in a pressure cooker.
- Add salt to taste.
- Cook the chana in a pressure cooker for 15-20 minutes after the first whistle, on low flame.
- Remove from flame and keep aside.
- Let the cooker open naturally.
- In a pan add the oil/ ghee.
- Let the oil warm a little.
- Add the asafetida.
- Add the whole cumin.
- When the whole cumin changes colour or starts spluttering.
- Add the slitted green chillies and the chopped green chillies. Stir fry for a minute or so.
- Add the ginger julienne. Stir for few seconds.
- Add the turmeric,coriander and red chilli powder. Stir for few seconds.
- Now add the aamchur powder.
- Mix it in and stir for few seconds.
- Now add the boiled cooked chana.
- Even the water whatever there is.
- Mix it well with the masala.
- Cover and cook on low flame for few minutes.
- Then remove cover and cook on medium flame ,let the water dry up.
- Add the chopped coriander leaves. Mix it in and cook for a minute or so.
- It's done .
