SABUDANA KHICHDI - Simrun Chopra

Navratri special Sabudana Khichdi

Ingredients

  • 1 cup ready sabudana
  • 1 potato boiled and cut in cubes
  • ½ cup pumpkin cubes, boiled/steamed
  • 8 tbsp roasted peanuts
  • ½ tsp whole cumin
  • pinch of turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • few green chillies chopped
  • pinch of pepper
  • 2 tbsp of ghee
  • 2 tbsp of chopped coriander leaves

Method

  1. In a pan put add the ghee. When the ghee is warm add the whole cumin.
  2. When the cumin starts to splutter.
  3. Add the turmeric powder. Stir it.
  4. Add the grated ginger and black pepper. Stir for a minute or so.
  5. Add the chopped green chillies. Mix it in.
  6. Now add the roasted peanuts and mix it in with the masala.
  7. Add the cooked potato and pumpkin. Mix it in.
  8. Now add the sabudana. Mix it in.
  9. Add the sendha salt to taste. Mix and stir for few seconds.
  10. Cover and cook on low flame for few minutes. Stir in between.
  11. Add the chopped coriander leaves.
  12. Mix it in.
  13. Ready.
