Jhatpat Gobi (cauliflower)

Ingredients

  • 1 full Gobi (medium size cut into florets) 
  • 1 small potato (cut into cubes)
  • 2-3 tbsp oil 
  • 1 1/2 chopped onions 
  • 1chopped tomato
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste 
  • Salt to taste 
  • 1/2 tsp whole cummin 
  • Red chilli powder to taste 
  • 1/2 tsp coriander powder 
  • 1/4 tsp cummin powder 
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder 
  • 1 1/2 tsp dry kasturi leaves 
  • 1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves 
  • Few slitted green chillies (optional)


Method

  • Take a kadhai add 1 tbsp of oil 
  • When the oil is warm add the cut cauliflower and potato 
  • Stir fry on medium to full flame 
  • Should become a little beige brown 
  • Remove and keep aside 
  • Now add the remaining oil in the same kadhai 
  • When the oil is a little warm 
  • Add the whole cummin 
  • When it starts spluttering 
  • Add the chopped onions 
  • Stir fry till translucent 
  • Add the ginger garlic paste 
  • Stir fry till the raw smell goes 
  • Add the tomato, saute for few minutes 
  • Add the salt, turmeric, red chilli powder, coriander and cummin powder 
  • Can add few tbsp of water so that the dry masala does not burn 
  • Saute for few minutes 
  • When the masala becomes soft 
  • Add the stir fried cauliflower and potato 
  • Mix it in well 
  • Saute for few minutes 
  • Cover and cook on low flame till the cauliflower and potato are cooked .
  • Open the cover 
  • Add the kadturi leaves 
  • Stir fry for few minutes .
  • Done .
