- 500-600 gms of chicken
- 3tbsp of oil
- 1/2 tsp whole cumin
- 1 1/2 bid size onion sliced fine
- 1 1/2 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- Few slitted green chillies
- 2 tomatoes cut into thick slices
- 2 onions cut into 4 pieces each
- 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
- 2 tbsp curd /yougart
- Salt to taste
- 1/4 tsp red chilli powder
- 1/4 tsp kashmiri red chilli powder
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
Dry roast
- 1 1/2 tsp whole coriander seeds,
- 1 tsp whole black peppercorns,
- 4 whole red chilli,
- 2 bay leaves,
- 2 green cardamom and
- 4-5 cloves
- When cooled down coarsely pound in a mortar pestal and keep aside
Method
- Take a kadhai add the oil and heat the oil
- When the oil becomes hot add the chicken to it
- Stir fry on full flame for few seconds
- Then add the whole cumin and continue stir frying
- Next add the finely sliced onions
- Stir fry till onions become translucent
- Now add the coarsely pounded masala to the chicken
- Stir fry for few minutes
- Then add few slitted green chillies
- Next add the salt to taste, red chilli powder, kashmiri red chilli powder and turmeric powder
- Mix the masala in well and stir fry for 5-7 minutes
- Then add 11/2 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- Saute till the raw smell of the ginger garlic goes
- Now add 2 tomatoes cut into thick slices
- Mix the tomatoes in and cook for few minutes
- Lower the flame and cover and cook till chicken becomes tender .
- Open the cover and stir in between
- Take out / remove the skin of the tomato and discard it .
- Then add 2 tbsp of curd to the chicken
- Saute till you get a nice reddish brown colour
- Then add the cut onion pieces and slitted green chillies
- Saute for few minutes Then add the chopped coriander leaves
- Mix it in well and serve hot
