Tinda (Round Gourd) ki Subzi
Ingredients
- 500 gms Tinda ,wash ,peel and cut each tinda in 4 pieces .Keep aside .
- 3 tbsp oil/ghee
- 1 cup sliced onions
- 1/2 cup chopped coriander leaves
- 2-3 green chillies chopped
- 1/2 tsp ginger paste
- Salt to taste
- Red chilli powder to taste
- 1/4-1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp coriander powder
- 1/4 tsp asafoetida
- 1/2 tsp whole cumin
Method
- Take a pan ,add the oil/ghee to it .
- Heat/warm the oil/ghee
- Then add the asafoetida and whole cumin
- Stir fry for few seconds
- Now add the sliced onion and stir fry till it becomes translucent
- Add the ginger paste and stir fry till the raw smell goes .
- Can add 2-3 tbsp of water to the pan if the masala is catching at the bottom
- Next add the chopped green chillies and saute for few seconds
- Add the salt ,turmeric and red chilli powder
- Saute for few minutes
- Now add the coriander
- powder and saute for few seconds .
- Then add the cut round gourd and mix it in well
- Saute for few minutes
- Add 1/2- 1 cup of water to the pan
- When the water starts bubbling lower the flame and cover the pan and cook till the vegetable is done .
- Finally add the chopped coriander leaves, mix it in well ,cover and cook for few minutes
- Then done .
- Serve with roti and raita .
- Note : can keep a little gravy or make it dry on personal choice.
