Brown Rice Kheer



  • Brown rice – 1/2 cups
  • Skimmed Milk – 1 cup (100ml)
  • Cashew - 2 nos.
  • Almonds – 2 i nos
  • Sugar- ½ tsp
  • Ground cardamom powder – a pinch


  1. In a bowl soak the brown rice coarsely for 30mins .
  2. Cook the brown rice untill soft.
  3. In a pan mixed milk and rice and cook on low flame till milk reduces a little, stirring from time to time.
  4. Add sugar, cardamom powder and mix well.
  5. Switch off the flame and garnish with chopped nuts.
  6. It can be served either warm or cold.
