Salad with a Twist

Mattar Aloo Til Chaat
Ingredients
1 cup blanched (cooked) peas
1 sweet potato/boiled potato cut into cubes
1 big onion sliced
1 big cucumber cut in big cubes
Few slitted green chillies
1 tbsp of chopped coriander leaves
1 "ginger julienne
1 1/2 tbsp white sesame seeds roasted
1 tsp whole cummin roasted
Few whole red chillies roasted
Salt to taste
1/2 -1 lime ,juice
1-2 tbsp of mustard oil
5-6 pieces of fenugreek seeds
Preparation
Grind the roasted sesame seeds,whole cumin and whole red chillies in a grinder to a powder and keep aside .
Method
- Add the oil to a pan and let it get hot
- When the oil is hot add the fenugreek seeds and stir fry for 30-40 seconds
- When it is fragrant remove and discard the seeds
- Now to that oil add the ginger julienne and slitted green chillies and stir fry for 30-40 seconds
- Switch of the flame and add the onion,cucumber, potato and peas
- Stir it in and mix it nicely with the ginger and chillies
- Now add the ground powder and mix it in well .
- Add the salt and lime juice and stir it in (can add 1/2 -1 lime juice on personal preference)
- Lastly add the chopped coriander leaves.
- Mix it in and you are done
- Can have it by itself or as a salad with your meal
