MOONG DAL CHILLA
Ingredients
- 250-300 gms moong dal
- 1 ½ tbsp ginger grated
- few green chillies
- ¼ tsp asafoetida
- salt to taste
- 1 onion chopped
- 1 tomato chopped
- 2 tbsp chopped coriander
- oil as per requirement
Method
- Wash and soak dal overnight. Drain the water and put in a grinder.
- Add few green chillies according to taste. And add the 1 ½ tbsp of granted ginger.
- Grind the dal to a smooth paste.
- Can add 2-3 tbsp of water. When done remove and put in a bowl.
- Now add salt according to taste.
- Add ¼ tsp asafoetida. Mix well and beat the batter for few minutes .
- Heat a non stick tava ,add 1 tsp oil.
- When the oil gets hot put 3-4 tbsp batter with a ladle and make it like a dosa.
- Sprinkle on top,chopped onions,chopped tomato, chopped coriander leaves and
- chopped green chillies according to taste. Press the above into the batter.
- Cook on low to medium flame till the sides start leaving
- Flip it over and cook for few minutes. Done .
- Serve with coriander/mint/ garlic chutney .
Note
- Can put thinly sliced spinach, grated beetroot, and grated carrots instead of the onions and tomatoes on top of the chila.
