Mushroom Peas with Curry Leaves
Mushrooms Peas Stir Fry
1 packet fresh mushrooms
(Approximately 12-15 pieces ,cut each into 4 pieces )
300 gms fresh peas, (blanch it so that they are 3/4 cooked)
1 tbsp garlic, chopped smalle
1 medium to big onion, chopped
1 tsp ginger garlic, paste/grated
Few slitted green chillies, according to taste
15-20 leaves of curry patta
1/2 tsp pepper powder
Salt to taste
1/4 tsp cumin powder
1 tsp soya sauce
1tsp mint /coriander leaves, chopped
1/2 tsp dry kasturi methi leaves
3 tbsp of oil
  • Blanch the peas to ensure they are ¾ cooked. Add the raw peas to boiling water for a few minutes. Remove and add to a bowl of cold water to retain their colour. You can also steam them a bit if you prefer.
  • Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat.
  • Add in the chopped garlic and stir fry for 1 to 2 minutes or until the sides just start to change colour.
  • At this stage add in the curry leaves and stir in for 30 secs on until fragrant.
  • Add the chopped onions and stir fry the onions till it becomes translucent or slightly transparent
  • Add in the the ginger-garlic paste and stir fry for few minutes till the raw smell goes
  • Stir in the chopped mushrooms and stir fry for few minutes then add in the peas and cook for a few minutes
  • Add the salt and pepper and stir fry for 30-40 seconds
  • Mix  in the cumin powder , chopped mint /coriander leaves and dry kasturi methi leaves and cook and cover and cook for a few minutes.
  • Serve hot
