Paneer Shawarma


  • 100g paneer 
  • ½ tbsp ground cumin
  • ¼ tbsp turmeric powder
  • ½ tbsp ground coriander
  • ½ tbsp garlic and ginger paste
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • 25g large onion, thinly sliced
  • 25g tomato
  • ½ large lemon juice  
  • 5ml oil

For pita bread

  • water
  • yeast
  • pinch sugar
  • whole wheat flour 30g
  • salt


  1. Knead flour with yeast salt, pinch sugar with required water and set aside for 1 hour then make a dough and cook in the pan.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the whole cumin, turmeric, coriander, garlic and ginger and paste and pepper. Marinate paneer and season with salt and set aside. 
  3. Grill the paneer and then toss with onion, tomato.
  4. Spread the paneer with the onions, tomato in Pita Bread and spread yogurt sauce or tahini. Roll it and serve.
