Poha Tikki
Ingredients :
Method :
- 250 gms raw poha
- 3 medium size carrots grated
- 1/2 cup chopped dhaniya patta
- 2 medium size onions chopped
- 1/2 cup peas blanched
- 2 medium size boiled potatoes
- 2” piece ginger grated
- Few green chillies chopped (according to taste )
- Salt according to taste
- 1 tsp dhaniya powder
- 1 tsp jeera powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chilli flakes
- 1/2 tsp Garam masala
- 1 1/2 tsp sugar
- Juice of 1 lemon
- (Oil according to number of tikiyas being made )
- 10 tsp oil (approximate 3-4 tbsp of oil for 20 tikiyas )
Method :
- Wash the poha , then soak it for 15 -20 minutes .
- Drain the poha and keep it aside .
- Blanch the peas then mash it roughly and keep it aside .
- Mash the boiled potatoes and keep aside .
- Peel the carrots and grate it , keep it aside .
- Chop the dhaniya patta finely and keep aside .
- Chop the onions and keep aside .
- Grate the ginger and keep it aside
- Chop the green chillies and keep it aside .
- Now take the poha in a big bowl and mash it nicely .
- Add all the above ingredients and mix it well .
- Now add the salt , dhaniya , jeera , turmeric , Garam masala and red chilli flakes to the poha mixture mix it nicely .
- Last add the sugar and lime juice and mix well .
- At this stage can taste and check salt .
- Now take small balls in your hand , flatten it out to make tikiya .
- Spread 1 tsp oil in a pan , heat the oil a little .
- Place the tikiyas on the pan .
- Cook on medium flame .
- Cook on one side then flip to cook on the other side .
- Done .
- Serve with chutney of your choice .
