Poha Tikki
Ingredients :
  • 250 gms raw poha 
  • 3 medium size carrots grated 
  • 1/2 cup chopped dhaniya patta 
  • 2 medium size onions chopped 
  • 1/2 cup peas blanched 
  • 2 medium size boiled potatoes 
  • 2” piece ginger grated 
  • Few green chillies chopped (according to taste ) 
  • Salt according to taste 
  • 1 tsp dhaniya powder 
  • 1 tsp jeera powder 
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder 
  • 1 tsp red chilli flakes 
  • 1/2 tsp Garam masala 
  • 1 1/2 tsp sugar 
  • Juice of 1 lemon 
  • (Oil according to number of tikiyas being made )
  • 10 tsp oil (approximate 3-4 tbsp of oil for 20 tikiyas )

Method :
  • Wash the poha , then soak it for 15 -20 minutes . 
  • Drain the poha and keep it aside . 
  • Blanch the peas then mash it roughly and keep it aside . 
  • Mash the boiled potatoes and keep aside . 
  • Peel the carrots and grate it , keep it aside . 
  • Chop the dhaniya patta finely and keep aside . 
  • Chop the onions and keep aside . 
  • Grate the ginger and keep it aside 
  • Chop the green chillies and keep it aside . 
  • Now take the poha in a big bowl and mash it nicely . 
  • Add all the above ingredients and mix it well . 
  • Now add the salt , dhaniya , jeera , turmeric , Garam masala and red chilli flakes to the poha mixture mix it nicely .
  • Last add the sugar and lime juice and mix well . 
  • At this stage can taste and check salt . 
  • Now take small balls in your hand , flatten it out to make tikiya . 
  • Spread 1 tsp oil in a pan , heat the oil a little . 
  • Place the tikiyas on the pan . 
  • Cook on medium flame . 
  • Cook on one side then flip to cook on the other side . 
  • Done . 
  • Serve with chutney of your choice .
