Ragi is also known as Finger Millet in India.
Nachni is another common name for this millet in India.
1/2 cup raagi flour
1 cup water
Salt to taste
Oil as per requirement
Options that can be added to the batter
1 medium size onion finely chopped
1 medium size tomato finely chopped
1 tbsp finely chopped coriander
1 tbsp finely chopped dill leaves
Chopped green chillies to taste
Can add little of all of the above or any combination of your choice .
Mix the raagi flour and water into a smooth paste and add salt to taste .
Heat a tava /flat pan and add 1/4 -1/2 tsp of oil .Spread the oil nicely all over .
When the the tava is hot pour the batter with a ladle on the tava/pan
2 -2 1/2 ladles of batter can be put
Cover and cook for 30-40 seconds
Remove the cover
When the batter starts leaving the sides ,flip it over and cook for a minute or so
Fold into half then again fold into half .
Will be like a triangle .
Serve with chutney.
Note: can add finely chopped onion/finely chopped coriander leaves/finely chopped dill leaves /finely chopped tomato/finely chopped green chillies to the batter .
Can add little of each or any combination you prefer .
