TAWA CHICKEN

TAWA CHICKEN - Simrun Chopra

A simple recipe that can be used in so many ways. 
Have it with Roti or use it as a sandwich filling or a roll filling. 

 

Ingredients

  • 350 gms of boneless chicken (cut into cubes)
  • 1 1/2 coarsely chopped onions 
  • 1 onion cut into rings 
  • 1 coarsely chopped tomato 
  • Few chopped green chillies 
  • Few slitted green chillies 
  • 1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves 
  • 1 tbsp chopped spring onions (optional) 
  • 1 1/2 tsp chopped ginger 
  • 1 1/2 tsp chopped garlic 
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder 
  • Red chilli powder to taste 
  • Salt to taste 
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala 
  • 2 tbsp of oil 

Method
  • Put the oil on the tawa 
  • When it gets warm 
  • Add the chopped ginger and garlic 
  • Stir fry till the raw smell goes 
  • Add the coarsely chopped onions 
  • Stir fry for few minutes 
  • Add the chopped green chillies 
  • Stir fry for few minutes 
  • Add the chopped tomato 
  • Stir fry for a minute or so 
  • Add the cubed chicken 
  • Stir fry till it changes color 
  • Add the salt,turmeric, red chilli powder or flakes 
  • Stir fry on low flame 
  • Then cover the chicken and keep for few minutes for the chicken to cook .
  • Open the cover 
  • Add the garam masala 
  • Stir fry now till the chicken becomes brown in colour 
  • Add the chopped coriander and spring onions 
  • Stir fry for few minutes 
  • Add the onion rings 
  • Mix it in well ,then cover and cook on low flame for few minutes 
  • Onion should become slightly soft 
  • Add the slitted green chillies 
  • Mix it in .
  • Done .

Serve with roti or paratha or can use as a stuffing for an egg paratha .
