Masoor Dal Dosa with Coconut Chutney

A high-protein, flavorful dosa made with red lentils, paired with a delicious coconut chutney.

Add a side of cucumber here to increase the fiber 


Ingredients

  • Masoor dal (red lentils, uncooked): 50g, soaked for 4-6 hours and ground into a batter
  • Onion: 1 small, finely chopped
  • Green chilies: 1, chopped
  • Spices:
    • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
    • Salt to taste
  • Oil: 1 tsp
  • Coconut chutney: 2 tbsp (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the batter:

    • Soak masoor dal for 4-6 hours, then grind into a smooth batter. Mix the batter with finely chopped onion, green chilies, turmeric powder, and salt.
  2. Cook the dosa:

    • Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat. Grease lightly with oil. Pour a ladleful of the batter onto the pan and spread it into a thin circle.
    • Drizzle a little oil around the edges. Cook on one side until golden brown, then flip and cook the other side. Repeat with the remaining batter.
  3. Prepare the chutney (optional):

    • If using, serve the dosa with 2 tbsp of coconut chutney on the side.
  4. Serve:

    • Serve the dosas hot, plain or with chutney, as desired.
